Exciting news for all LP12 owners (and aspiring owners): Linn has today officially announced it’s first ever plinth performance upgrade – Bedrok™.
The modern Linn-age won-der plinth 🎶😂
This is Linn’s reference, Klimax level plinth, formed of orthogonal layers of beech, placed under extreme pressure and heat to create an entirely new, solid and massive material.
We have heard Bedrok™ in action, and it destroys current Klimax LP12. Why?
Well, as LP12 folks know, the plinth affects everything. Everything is mounted to it, and every component depends on the combination of its stability, acoustic isolation and resonance characteristics. It is the bedrock (if you’ll pardon the pun) of your deck. With more than double the density of a standard LP12 plinth, Bedrok™ is uniformly solid and ultra-low resonance and so extracts the absolute maximum performance from every single part of your LP12; every component gets a new lease of life.
And as LP12 folks also know, that means more pace, tighter bass, greater insight and enjoyment of your music. In summary, more boogie! And Bedrok™ is retrofittable to any LP12 turntable…😊
This highly engineered, ultra-dense wood has negligible resonance and provides a superior isolating housing for the LP12 turntable’s mechanism. The engineered wood material allows Linn to precision-machine the interior architecture of Bedrok™ for an excellently balanced centre of mass. Its machined structure accommodates all Sondek LP12 components with unparalleled compatibility and conformity. There are no fixing screws into wood, Bedrok™ features threaded steel inserts throughout for extra durability through it’s lifetime and any future upgrades.
The plinth comes in a single, distinctive finish; its constituent natural beechwood layers are enhanced and protected with a simple coat of oil. It is supplied with a brand new top plate, identical to the standard top plate but for a pair of subtle curves which allow it to seamlessly integrated with the plinth’s upper lip.
Bedrok™ materials are scarce, the manufacturing processes intense and demand will be high, so lead times will exceed Linn’s standard. But trust us, this is worth waiting for.
